The Royal Underground Theatre Company is casting POTUS or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive! . One four-letter word is about to rock 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When the President unwittingly spins a PR nightmare into a global crisis, the seven brilliant and beleaguered women he relies upon most risk life, liberty, and the pursuit of sanity to keep the commander-in-chief out of trouble.

Directed by Anna Oglesby-Smith, POTUS is a fast-paced farce with an all-female cast. We are looking for actors to fill the following roles: In order of their emotional proximity to POTUS aka President of the United States (closest to furthest)...

Roles Seeking (MFB Casting)

HARRIET: 50s to 70s, female/femme presenting, any ethnicity. His chief of staff. Harriet is a survivor of the ultimate boys club, and it shows. Not necessarily loyal to the president, but definitely loyal to her position. “I hope you continue to feel fulfilled by your choice to trade youth and beauty for a life of service to him”.
JEAN: 40s to 60s, female/femme presenting, any ethnicity. His press secretary. Jean holds much more loyalty to public perception than the sitting administration. A career woman like Harriet, but not as jaded and intense. “I had no idea that your BA in marketing made you such a f*cking expert on international diplomacy!”
STEPHANIE: Stephanie has difficulty navigating a world where she is constantly being underestimated and dismissed. Number one recruit after school, yet not adept in social settings. “She’s like a menopausal toddler”.
DUSTY: Early 20s to 30s, female/femme presenting, any ethnicity. His dalliance. Dusty is a sweetheart. Very extroverted, friendly, loving, and well-intentioned. There’s a slight Disney quality to how she navigates life, always optimistic and enthusiastic. “You’re the daughter of a farmer and you’re meeting with Harriet but you’re here to see the president. And you’re pregnant… Are you by any chance into rough a$s play?”
BERNADETTE: 40s to 50s, female/butch or femme presenting, white. His sister. Bernie is the black sheep of the family and has been her entire life. She is chaotic, not egotistical but definitely self-involved, very comfortable with sexuality and the notion of making people uncomfortable. “You know, Bernadette bought my daughter a d!ld0 for her sixteenth birthday? And stole my ruby earrings, probably wears them as nipple piercings now”.
CHRIS: Mid-30s to 40s, female/femme presenting, Black. A journalist. Chris is a career-focused woman, trying to carve out space in a world telling her she can’t have it all. An extreme level head attached to a frantic body. “A newly divorced mother of three with vomit on your neck and t!t juice on your shirt”.
MARGARET: Mid-50s to early 60s, female/femme presenting, Black. His wife. The First Lady. Margaret is an incredible woman who attached her wagon to a not-so-great horse. She is classy, sharp, charming, everything you could ask a First Lady to be (to the public). “You have broken glass ceilings in so many areas… why aren’t you president?”
